From Horse Stable To Grow Hartford

The Ebony Horse Women is a very important part of Grow Hartford. For the past few years we have been working in collaboration with the staff there. The Ebony Horses Women provides our three site with the manure we need to keep our soil healthy. We at Grow Hartford and the Hartford Food System say thank you, to the staff and participants at the Ebony Horses Women for being local, good friends and a great program to those in the community.

The Harris AgriScience & Technology Center Meets Grow Hartford

On June 3rd 2008 Damaris, kat, Marco and I visited a familiar place called the Harris AgriScience and Technology Center located in Bloomfield CT. My co-workers and I took the trip to the school to partner with the students and staff to make a connection through agriculture. Students at the agriscience are learning how to plant and garden vegetables as well as other skills in animal science and aquaculture. Through our partnerships we received some of the flats of vegetables they produced. The following day, those transplants that were giving to us were planted at the Grow Hartford garden sites. With special Thanks to Mr. Rodriguez for all of his help as well as Ms. Edwards and Ms. LeBlond. I appreciate all that the Harris AgriScience and Technology Center has done for me! Jerica Sandiford Former student and now program coordinator of Grow Hartford :)
