FoodShare

We took a trip to FoodShare and we watched a video that showed some people that had some problems with money. The video showed how people became homeless because of a certain situation went bad. the people didn't have much to eat. Then we saw all the food that people an food pantries had gave in order to feed those people. I think that if more people gave more no one would ever be hungry.
Hi my name is Whitney and Grow Hartford took us on a fieldtrip to Regional Market and FoodShare. It was an expireience for the group. First at Regional Market we took a 15-20 minute drive there, then we arrived but since we were a little lost so we had to ask for directions for FoodShare but we were in thr right place, just on the wrong side. We got there climbed a flight of stairs. We saw adult Volunteers and we thought they were actual workers. An older guy named Don greeted us there and asked us what is FoodShare? we knew but did not say anything. He told us some things about FoodShare that we already knew. Then he took us to the freezer that had a whole bunch of types of produce ex.) corn, greenbeans, tamatos, watermelons, etc. then he took us out and put us to work which was bagging the greenbeans I think personally that it was fun. We had to wear gloves the whole time. It was pretty fun. Then after all of that we had to undo the boxes and put them flat and put them in the back. Then we had to leave. So we got back on the bus and took another drive which was 25-30 minute drive from the Regional Market. We went to Bloomfeild in the middle of nowhere. So we got to FoodShare and Jennifer greeted us when we arrived and she brought us into the buliding. And for like the next 10 minutes that we were there we watched a hunger movie it was boring but edjucational. Then she took us to the storage room and showed us where they keep all of the food. They showed us 3 different places the frezzer place, the dry place and the deoderant room. I thought it would be bigger. Then that was basically it. That was the fieldtrip 2 places in 1 day. FIN.
